Discovery

Blank slate was conceived as a multi-artist project with three friends during the beginning of the pandemic. The intent was to create a single run coloring book and stationary set. The project was to be completed with a six month production period.

The discovery phase consisted of brand development, an interest check, and the creation of a contributor handbook outlining style and file specifications.

Product Campaign

In 2 weeks, Blank Slate received applications from 168 artists, of which 29 were accepted as contributors. Per the handbook, artists were given a 4 month development period running from September - December while we generated customer interest through social channels.

Social Assets

Launch

With all artwork finalized, Blank Slate launched for pre-order on a custom Shopify storefront. During the month-long sales period, all artwork was formatted and delivered to manufacturers for production in order to minimize time to delivery.

In addition to the 35 page coloring book, nine additional stationary items and three digital rewards were created and sold.

RESULTS

The Blank Slate project was started and completed within 9 months, shipping on schedule without delays. The shop site had an 11.35% conversion rate and final sales were 185% to goal.
